Congratulations to Aidan Winkler on receiving the Future Leader Award at the 55th Annual Berea Chamber of Commerce Grindstone Award Banquet! Aidan is a sophomore in our Broadcasting & Video Production program at Berea-Midpark High School. He’s active in school and extra-curricular activities, he’s an amazing community volunteer and he’s a rockstar in his Polaris program. Below is the nomination that was submitted for this award:
Aidan is a sophomore at Berea-Midpark High School and also attends Polaris. Throughout the school year, Aidan was a volunteer announcer for athletic events at the high school. He also created several promotional videos for various athletic programs as well as recap videos as a memento for the seniors on the boys' varsity basketball team. This summer, Aidan volunteered over 160 hours at the district's Summer Day Camp where he created 5 short videos that recapped the events throughout each week at camp. He also created 4 "Social Experiment" videos to highlight the interests of our summer campers which all the kids truly looked forward to each week. Aidan has not only been the photographer and videographer at summer camp, but he also transformed into a positive role model to many of the campers. He is always willing to help the staff and has become a valued member of the team.
His nominator also writes, “Aidan's talent for videography is phenomenal. The videos that he creates are unique, engaging and interesting. Aidan took the initiative to email me in March about volunteering with us at Summer Camp. He took it upon himself to create ‘Week in a Nutshell’ videos and ‘Social Experiment’ videos for our campers, which have become a staple that we all look forward to. All of this has stemmed from his wish to help grow our program and his willingness to step into this role. He models respect, exudes responsibility, and spreads kindness throughout every environment he is in. I know that his future successes will be endless because of his determination and constant drive to better our community.”
This is an AMAZING honor! Keep up the great work, Aidan! Your future is BRIGHT!
