Consumer Information

Federal regulations require that institutions provide specific consumer information about the school and about financial aid to enrolled and prospective students.

Student Consumer Information Disclosure

The Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA), as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA), includes many disclosure and reporting requirements for institutions participating in Title IV programs. A disclosure requirement is information that Polaris Career Center is required to distribute or make available to students (and sometimes employees). A reporting requirement is information submitted to the U.S. Department of Education or other agencies. Disclosure and reporting requirements sometimes overlap.

The following is a list of the key disclosure and/or reporting requirements, along with a description of how and when this information is distributed and where it can found:

A) Programs that meet educational requirements for a specific professional license or certification that is required for employment in an occupation: Police Academy, Cosmetology Academy, Manicurist.

The Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) certification is required to become a peace officer in the state of Ohio. It is undetermined if the curriculum of the Police Academy at Polaris Career Center meets the state educational requirements for states other than Ohio. 

The Ohio State Board Licensed Cosmetologist license is required to become a cosmetologist in the state of Ohio. It is undetermined if the curriculum of the Cosmetology Academy at Polaris Career Center meets the state educational requirements for states other than Ohio. 

The Ohio State Board Licensed Cosmetologist-Manicurist license is required to become a manicurist in the state of Ohio. It is undetermined if the curriculum of the Manicurist program at Polaris Career Center meets the state educational requirements for states other than Ohio.

G) Annual Security Report
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose crime statistics that happen on and around their campuses. The law was originally known as the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 and was amended and renamed in 1998 after Jeanne Clery, a Lehigh University student who was assaulted and murdered in her residence hall on April 5, 1986. This information is published in the Annual Security Report.
